The villagers said, “For last 14 years, we knocked on every door and even approached political leaders but all in vain. Initially, a few electricity poles were erected. Work did not progress for the next 14 years. On 31 December, last year we approached our Arambagh MP Mitali Bag and within a week, on Monday evening, our houses were lit up with electricity. We have no words to thank our Arambagh MP Mitali Bag.”

MP Mitali Bag said, “I was shocked to know that Mondala village, under Hazipur panchayat in Goghat, was without power for the last 14 years. It was my first priority to reach power connection to every house in the village. Any land disputes were amicably resolved and from Monday evening houses were lit up in Mondala village.
The Arambagh MP added, “Monday was my father’s death anniversary. We are somber with the loss, yet I’m happy to see the smile on the faces of so many fathers and mothers.”
